When we decided to leave Perth — the world’s most isolated city — for Spain, our search followed the usual “best digital nomad cities” and “most livable places” lists. That journey first took us to El Cabanyal in Valencia. It looked perfect on paper: beaches, culture, expats. But living there quickly showed us it wasn’t the lifestyle that truly suited us.

Our real turning point came with buying a property in regional Murcia — despite never having lived outside a city before. It opened our eyes to a different pace of life and to Spain’s balneario (thermal spa) culture. That discovery inspired us to create Thermal Luxe, our guide to thermal tourism and authentic Spanish living.

Today, through Test Drive Spain, we’ve joined forces with fellow creators to expand that mission: helping the Spain Curious discover lifestyles and regions beyond the obvious hotspots.
